Oath as Sindh Governor
KARACHI: Former top judge, Justice Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui, has been sworn in as new Governor of Sindh, as the outgoing one Dr. Ishratul Ibad Khan left for Dubai after farewell meetings.
In the oath-taking ceremony in Governor House, Chief Justice Sindh High Court Syed Sajjad Ali Shah administered the oath to Justice (retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui.
Justice Siddiqui is a former chief justice of Pakistan and a senior judge of Supreme Court as well as Chief Justice of Sindh High Court (SHC).
He was ruling PML-N’s candidate in a presidential election in 2008.
Justice Siddiqui has replaced Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan, who served for more than 14 years. Ibad has left to Dubai, but before leaving, he spent a busy day in Karachi in meetings with high government officials.
Ibad also held a farewell meeting with Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah. The CM lauded the contributions of Dr. Ishrat for the development and progress of the province.
