Facebook bug declares users dead, including Zuckerberg problem creates for everyone.

NEW YORK: Facebook is making history of mistakes – this time by telling everyone that they are dead. It did not spare even its chief Mark Zuckerberg, but why? Let’s have a look!

On Friday, when every user in USA logged on to its profile it saw a ‘memorial banner’ sitting on top of the page, urging his/her friends and family members to remember the deceased. “We hope people who love Casey will find comfort in the things others share to remember and celebrate his life,” the banner reads.

Media reports indicated that some two million errant memorials were posted on profile pages.

Even Facebook co-founder and chief executive Zuckerberg was memorialized in a message at his profile page expressing hope that people who loved him would take comfort in posts people shared in tribute to his life.

But later Facebook realized the mistake and apologized for inconvenience of users.

“For a brief period today, a message meant for memorialized profiles was mistakenly posted to other accounts,” a Facebook spokesperson said.

“This was a terrible error that we have now fixed,” he said.
Facebook’s bug comes in the wake of users concerns about the social network after Donald Trump’s victory. Public debate has swirled around Facebook’s system for distributing content regarding fake news and false information on the app.
