nayyar passed away

Lahore: Legendary Pakistani film playback and ghazal singer A Nayyar passed away on Saturday night after a prolonged illness. His age was 66 years.

According to family sources, Nayyer died  due to the heart attack. The deceased left behind three grieving daughters and widow.

He born on September 17, 1950, Arthur Nayyar shot to fame after his singing debut in 1974 film Bahisht. His first song Yunhin din cut jayen,  yuhin shaam dhal jaye was a famous duet song with Rubina Badar in film Bahisht (1974), composed by A Hamed.

He won’s most Nigar Awards for best playback singer in 1979, 1985, 1989 and 1991.

Nayyar and Akhlaq Ahmed remained dominant playback singers of Pakistani film industry in the 1980s.  He also ran a music academy in Lahore for many years .

In a press statement,Pakistani  president Mamnoon Hussain expressed his condolence over the sad demise of renowned singer A Nayyar on Friday.

According to a President house statement, the president said that the services of late A Nayyar in the field of music would be remembered for long terms.

He also prayed for forgiveness of the departed his soul and keep patience for the bereaved family to bear the loss with equanimity,Ameen
