KARACHI: To curb the issuance of fake licenses, the Sindh Police department has introduced a new computerized driving license system, enabling citizens to get their driving licences through a mobile application.

The bid to make the system computerized will also counter fake driving licenses, Inspector General (IG) of Sindh Police, A.D Khawaja says.

Now the driving license will be linked with Nadra’s online system and renewal of old the license will take just few minutes while new license will be issued within 40 minutes.

The app ‘Driving License Sindh’ has been introduced for the convenience of Sindh citizens. People will be able to get any information about the licenses through the app or SMS alert, thus saving time and energy wasted by waiting in the long queues.

These computerized licenses will be acceptable globally.

Citizens of Sindh will be able to submit the license fee in any bank. Online payments are also acceptable.

Punjab has Driving License Issuance Management System (DLIMS) which automates the processes of license issuance, upgrades and renewal. The system uses state of the art technology to provide quick service to the public.
